A timeline of Derek Brewer's Trent Bridge reign
2005 – Takes over from David Collier in March and immediately sees Mick Newell lead the club to their first County Championship title since 1987.
2006 – Notts experience the pain of relegation from Division One of the County Championship just 12 months after winning it and lose on home soil to Leicester in the final of T20. It follows the news earlier in the season that the club would not hosts an Ashes Test in 2009.
2007 – Notts bounce back on the pitch by earning promotion back to the top flight after finishing second behind Somerset. Plans for an £8.2million redevelopment of the Bridgford Road side of the ground, as well as the installation of a replay screen and scoreboard are approved.
2008 – Trent Bridge is chosen as one of only three English grounds to host matches in the ICC World Twenty20 to be held in 2009. Plans are announced to install a new drainage and sprinkler system. On the field, defeats in their final matches against Hampshire (County Championship) and Sussex (Pro40) saw them narrowly miss out on silverware.
2009 – Trent Bridge given rave reviews after successfully staging the ICC World Twenty20, although England struggle. Notts finish runners-up in the County Championship for the second year running.
2010 – Notts win the County Championship Division One for the second time in six years on a dramatic last day of the season at Lancashire's Old Trafford.
2011 – As reigning County Champions, Notts play the MCC in a seasonal curtain-raising game in the UAE. The green and golds discover they are to host Ashes Tests in 2013 and 2015. Brewer announces late in the year he is to step down.
2012 – Brewer to leave Notts to join the MCC in the spring after seven years at Trent Bridge.
