NOTTINGHAM Forest could make Daniel Ayala their fourth defensive addition of the summer.

The Reds are understood to be in negotiations with Norwich City with a view to adding the Spanish central defender to the City Ground squad on a season long loan.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Canaries from Liverpool for £800k last summer, does have experience in the Championship, having had loan spells with both Hull City and Derby County. He made seven appearances in the Premier League last season, with his progress hampered slightly by knee and hamstring injuries.

If Forest are able to complete a deal for the Spanish under-21 international, it would add further strength to Sean O'Driscoll's back four.

The new Reds boss has already signed Danny Collins, Greg Halford and Dan Harding from Stoke, Portsmouth and Southampton respectively this summer.

They have also signed midfielder Adlene Guedioura from Wolves in a £1m deal, but the back four continues to be O'Driscoll's priority, after he inherited a squad without a single experienced defender.

“Lets face it Ayala didn't shine at Direby so he is no good!
How do we know ? the experts from this record breaking club (the fans) say so!
One bad experience at a club doesn't make him a bad palyer.
Remember Kenny Burns and Larry Lloyd came to Forest bitd with bad reputations and help turn us into league champions and European champions
Therefore I say give a dog a bad name and it will turn round and bite your a**e!
I for one am willing to give anyone who signs for us a chance to prove their worth regardless of what bleating I hear from worried sheep!”

“***tu107 In all honesty, you can't say that Reds fans spend anything like the amount of time on Thisisderby site compared to the amount of posts we have to endure on this site. It really has got to ridiculous levels. Take a look at your friend Sneinton, who you have never berated. He posted SIX posts in a two and a half hour period yesterday. Saying the same thing over and over again! He has never ever posted on the Rams site! Then we have you, who seem to spend all day on here. What is wrong with debate on the Derby site?

I think Jilly summed it up perfectly in her post at 6.32pm with her quote ' It is just a subjective comment from someone who feels inferior' I think this sums up this situation perfectly. Also, when Derby become a superior club to Forest, these people will disappear, and no doubt, thick Forest fans will be posting all day on their site!”

“He is slow on the turn and in a straight line we had option after loan to sign him but king Nigel decided against it and signed shackell ! Brian always said build from back so why sign cheap average players?”

“I will come out and say the same about the childish posting from the Derby fans, it's repetitive and designed to get a reaction from the forest fans which it enevitibly does! It's no different to the post reddog80 who has been on our site this morning on every story!!
I am not going to go through every player that Derby have.
Tyson...below average to poor, exceptional pace but lacking confidence so probably won't score.
Barker...well above average, in fact very good..shame about injury!
    Craig Bryson...very good..work horse, composed!
Brayford...best right back in the league.
    Buxton...average.

It's a spelling error not a misunderstanding so no need to belittle!”

“Stu, I was not referring specifically to you when mentioning the sheep who post repetitive nonsense. We know who they are and you could have condemned them however, you declined to do so whilst having no hesitation in calling a Forest supporter childish. You can raise some decent points at times and once you lose the eternal chip that seems to be an obligatory feature on the shoulder of a sheep and you seperate yourself from the mindless few your comments will be better accepted.
You seem quiet knowledgeable in terms of player's abilities in order to categorise them so which rams players do you consider to be average or below average?
I think the term you are thinking of in relation to us signing players is "Stellar" which relates to the stars in the sky.
    Keep The Faith!
    YOU REDS!”
