Notts County v Shrewsbury Town
Mike Edwards powered a close-range header past Luke Daniels to put the Magpies ahead on 39 minutes, timing his run to perfection to meet Matt Hamshaw's dangerous in-swinging free-kick from the left wing.
Hamshaw had gone close to breaking the deadlock after just three minutes, curling an effort at goal with the outside of his right foot that Daniels tipped past this post at full-stretch.
And Jamie Forrester hit the crossbar with a cross that deflected off Kelvin Langmead and looped over the visitors' keeper, just a minute before Edwards struck.
The visitors levelled the game just one minute into the second half, with Dave Hibbert putting the ball in the net from point-blank after Grant Holt had headed Ben Davies' free-kick back across the face of goal at the far post.
Notts responded with an unmarked Michael Johnson directing a header wide from Hamshaw's corner on 51 minutes, and minutes later Hamshaw shot straight at the keeper from the edge of the penalty area following good interplay between Forrester and Richard Butcher.
Jason Beardsley raided forward as the Magpies sought to re-establish their advantage, but curled an effort wide of the far post just after the hour mark.
Two minutes later, Ian McParland was sent to the stands by referee Graham Horwood after disputing a decision.
Darren Moss headed just over the crossbar on 68 minutes, after Kevin Pilkington punched the ball to the edge of the penalty area, and minutes later Marc Tierney made a great defensive header from Myles Weston's cross with Delroy Facey poised at the far post.
Both teams continued to create chances, with Pilkington making a good save to deny Hibbert after he was sent through by Holt before Butcher fired the Magpies back in front from point-blank range from Facey's cross on 75 minutes.
The midfielder was involved at the other end minutes later, clearing a header off the goal-line to keep the Magpies' lead intact.
The visitors equalised for a second time on 88 minutes, with substitutes Chris Humphrey and Michael Symes combining to devastating effect. Humphrey crossed from the right and Symes arrived at pace to head past Pilkington at the far post.
Butcher came close to snatching victory in injury-time, following a swift counter-attack. But he miscued wide from inside the penalty area.
