Quality steak

“ Sometimes you need a restaurant that just does what it says on the tin, and this place is good for that. They cook the steak exactly how you want it, and exactly how you'd expect, so it's a great place to go if one of you is a bit of a connoisseur and the other prefers their steak medium to well. Good choices and the ribs are a must try. The atmosphere was a little lacking, but the food makes up for it. ”

Being Nottingham's only Steakhouse and located in the hub of the city centre just seconds from the tram stop and the main bus routes, The Soulville Steakhouse is a popular venue for large parties, stag nights, hen nights, birthday celebrations, works parties, anything from 7 to 70, but also, being on two floors, there is always a quieter corner available if that is what you require.

We offer starter and mains or mains and dessert, all for an unbelievable price and full table service. Fresh roasted Sunday lunches are also available every week from 12 till we run out. The restaurant is fully air conditioned, cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Still below par

“I went to this place about a year or so ago. Uninspiring dried food with zilch atmosphere in the place. The decor seemed tired and the service was just OK. I can think of numerous places where you can get better food. It is certainly not the worst in Nottingham but with so much competition, it is hard to think why anyone would actually want to keep subjecting themselves to the same mediocrity on a regular basis unless they had been warned not to get over excited by their doctor. Two stars is generous.”

Never again

“I have been to the Soulville Steakhouse a couple of times now, and I will not be going again. I last went with family and friends. Two members of the group decided to go for the fish and chips. When the food arrived, one of these meals looked awful and was essentially just batter. The other fish looked much better. When we flagged this up, the manager was called for and she told us that the chef would not change the fish (she did this without asking him) we continued to state that there was no meat and that it was not really acceptable, and we pointed out that the other fish looked fine, it was just this one. We was met with a poor attitude and shocking customer service. The young manager then went on to tell us that when they put the fish in it could turn out either way. After a lot of arguing, and after pointing out that we weren't there to pay for a gamble as to whether the food would be good or poor, she eventually allowed us to change the order (but we were NOT allowed another fish because it could turn out to be in the same state)
I have never complained in a restaurant, and I have certainly never had to argue over such poor quality. I was very disappointed with the way we were treated.
The steaks were ok, although one of them was very fatty... but we weren't going to get into another argument so we just kept quiet and vowed to never return.”

Simply Good Steaks

“Took my best mate here for a final feed on the night before his wedding. A very tasty steak provided solid foundations for a few beers!
Staff were very friendly and helpful and, best of all, steak came cooked exactly as requested, medium-rare. ”

Top notch steak

“There is nothing worse than a bad steak - but there's nothing better than a good one! This is a good place to head for the latter. I've been here a couple of times now and never been disappointed. I know if I come here (touch wood) that I will be carving into a juicy medium rare steak, if that's what I've ordered!”

steak is best

“my steak is my guilty pleasure well done is the way i have it cooked and this place coooked my meat how i asked for igt, it was well done but not burnt like how some places present a well done staek, the chunky rustic style chips were also delightful and the peppercorn sauce was to die for, i would reccomend this restaurant to all very impressed”

“Really like this place, it seems to have a really good vibe or atmosphere. The steaks are cooked to perfection but its also quite a good place to just meet a friend for a drink and enjoy the music. Brilliantly good value at lunchtimes.”

Unique concept

“What a great idea this place is, combining my favourite food and my favourite music, I wish that I had thought of it! The mushroom pepperpot starter is sublime, I have tried to re-create it at home but it is never quite right. Great atmosphere in here, tasty homecooked food. If it is a little expensive for you go earlier in the day when things are cheaper, this eaterie should be rolled out nationwide.”
