“ There's a few restaurants in Nottingham that people get really excited about, and I would say this is definitely one of them. It's a little tucked away, but that just adds to its charm. The decor is lovely with a lot of attention to detail and the policy of sourcing food locally is unique and very noteworthy. Not to repeat what everyone else has said, but the steak really is a winner here whether you are a fan of red meat or not. ”

“There are not enough places who pay attention to what is in season and then put it on the menu. . . but this place is one of them. That in itself is enough reason to pay it a visit. . . that and the fact they do a mean steak!”

“This is such a great restaurant - full of character, I love the way they put herbs and flowers in old Boots medicine glasses on the tables. Most of the food is locally sourced, which is great and they have an INCREDIBLE steak menu which is to die for. The courvoiser sauce is a must for any steak!”

“A little tucked away, if you didn't know it was there you could walk straight past. Received a really warm welcome. Menu is modern British and heavily influenced by the season. The set price menu is very good value for money.”

“In a great location, there is a bit of history to this building if you ask. The menu is mainly modern British in style and the decor is lovely, upmarket without the snobbery. The best thing about this restaurant is their food sourcing policy, everything is as local as possible without compromising on taste. They have a fixed price menu as well, which is great for keeping to a budget, The pork belly was divine.”

“The Larder on Goosegate is a hidden gem in Nottingham's Hockley area. Situated above the street, this cosy restaurant has some of the best food around. They even have a separate steak menu - I would definitely recommend the 8oz Picanha. We had a problem with one of our deserts, but the staff handled it brilliantly and even gave us a free bottle of wine for the trouble!”
