“I think you will find that it is not political correctness but apathy which is the real problem It amuses me that some people who make so much noise about protecting our Christian heritage worship at St Asda's on Sunday and would never dream of actually supporting and attending a church. As regards people not "buying" church anymore we had standing room only last night for our service of Nine Lessons and Carols and expect a repeat again tonight for the Crib Service and then the Midnight Communion. Not bad for a little village church where getting 185 people in is a bit of a shoe horn job !”
“Toryman, I don't understand why you say there is a link between vegetarianism and political correctness. I've been a vegetarian all my life, long before expressions such as PC were around, and I know I'm not the only one.”
“Is Christianity really that insecure? Apart from the occasional "winterval" nonsense that largely gets laughed at and silly health-and-safety nonsense in the Daily Mail, I haven't seen any concerted effort by anyone, PC or otherwise, to "suppress" Christmas.
People didn't stop going to church because some evil movement told them not to; they stopped because they don't buy it any more.”
“I agree with Stan Hamersley's comments below. Years of political correctness has given Seasons Greeting cards and vegetarianism . Women's rights, human rights, Socialism and health and safety. Now is the time to proclaim Christian values.”
