Structural problems close part of school

Tuesday, August 26, 2008, 16:35

PART of a secondary school has had to close over safety concerns.

Refurbishment work at Bramcote Hills Upper School in Beeston uncovered problems with concrete used in the building.

Notts County Council has allocated £100,000 emergency funding to allow other parts of the school and other schools in the White Hills Park Federation to be used for classes instead.

A council spokesman said: "The key point is this has come to light in good time so the problems can be managed without any risk to the safety of students or staff."

A series of meetings with parents are taking place this week.
