Notts air cadets take to the skies

Monday, November 10, 2008, 14:14

A GROUP of Notts air cadets have had their first taste of glider flight.

Four members of the Air Training Corps 1300 Squadron in Sutton-in-Ashfield were given the chance to soar above the skies of RAF Syerston, near Newark.

Cadets James Betts, 13, and Thomas Bradford, 13, each had a 25-minute flight in a Vigilant T1 propelled glider.

Fellow cadets Michael Fraser, 15, and Kyle Hunt, 13, only experienced taxiing around the airfield before all flights were cancelled due to high winds.

The cadets were taken by staff member Adult Sergeant Andy Young.
