Gymnast couple nominated for Reach Out

A COUPLE who devoted their time to securing funding so that an acrobatics club could continue have been nominated for a Reach Out award.

Jane and Paul Singleton filled out applications, helped pack plastic bags at supermarkets and held race nights to raise money for the Pyramid Acro Gymnastics Club in Clifton.

The club has been running for nine years and has around 45 members.

"The club had been going for nine years and we have had the same equipment" said Mrs Singleton, who is chairwoman of the club.

"We are trying to get the funds going so that we won't be in the same situation again where we won't be able to buy any mats."

The couple were nominated for a Reach Out award in the Sport category by Carol Elsaid, a coach at the club.
