Chief executive to leave One Nottingham

Wednesday, August 19, 2009, 11:14

THE chief executive of One Nottingham is to leave and take up a new job at a council in Yorkshire.

Andrew Balchin took the job at One Nottingham almost four years ago, as the organisation emerged from suspension.

Since then, Mr Balchin has helped put the regeneration body, which includes representatives from the city council, private and voluntary sectors and health service on a more secure footing.

He is due to become corporate director of communities at Wakefield Metropolitan District Council in October.

Mr Balchin said: "I have had a good four years in Nottingham and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Now is a good time to look elsewhere."

Mr Balchin, 49, previously worked for Rotherham Borough Council.
