Although they have only been together for a couple of years the four part Leicestershire harmony group have made great strides in their popularity which is reflected in the number of festival at which they will be appearing this year. Such appearances demand to be backed up by an album so Karen Harris, Miggy Campbell, Bill Wilkes and Pete Burnham now have their debut recording of seventeen tracks which amply demonstrate their skills.
Although the overall sound is perfect for a session of traditional singing there are actually more contemporary that trad songs on the album with such popular songwriters and arrangers as the late Peter Bellamy, Richard Grainger, Leicestershire songwriter George Thomas, Benny Graham and group member Miggy all getting an airing.
The album grows in richness and confidence as it goes along and some of the most joyous renderings such as Bright Shining Morning", "Crossing The Bar" and "Say No Goodbyes" come in the latter stages of the CD.
