TWO men have been arrested after police found £400,000 worth of counterfeit medicine at a house in Basford.

City of London Police discovered more than 70,000 pills, including Viagra, hidden in the loft of the home last week.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and money laundering.

A 25-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud. Both men remain on bail.

Police believe the medicine, which also contained impotence drugs Cialis and Levitra, had been shipped from China to be sold over the internet. Officers also seized £4,000 in cash.

City of London Police had been working with pharmaceutical company Lilly and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency on the case.
