McLeish relieved to escape with a point at Forest

ALEX McLeish admitted Nottingham Forest had produced a "great" performance, but blasted his side for their display.

The Birmingham manager admitted he was relieved to escape the City Ground with a point.

"Colin will probably say that his team played a great game – and I think they did. I expect better than that from our boys though," he said.

"We, for some reason, have dipped in form. But we have to stick together and we have to be positive.

"We are still second in the table. Wolves have got a gap on us and Reading have gained some ground on us. I know it is going to be a battle, because there are a lot of teams with quality in the division.

"I don't know if it is complacency – but how do you explain not keeping the ball, not passing the ball 20 yards? It is baffling that we can't keep the ball on a huge big pitch like that.

"Is it temperament? Is it because teams like Forest get at us?

"We got something out of this game when it could easily have been lost. And Maik Taylor made some good saves and Larsson made a great saving tackle at the end as well.

"We should have been chasing the win at the end, but we gave Forest too many chances."
