Ilkeston man in hospital after assault

POLICE are appealing for information after a man was found unconscious following an assault in Ilkeston.

The man suffered serious head injuries in the attack which took place either late on Thursday night or early Friday morning.

The 37-year-old victim, from the town, was found in Palmerston Road.

He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
