Ceremony for Notts High Sheriff

THE new High Sheriff for Notts was formally nominated in a ceremony in London yesterday.
John Michael Rowen, from Cropwell Butler, will take office next year.
The ceremony is one of the oldest still practised in this the UK, and dates back more than 1,000 years.
