Preston v Nottingham Forest match preview panel

Team news:

On loan Manchester United youngster Danny Welbeck is set to return from injury and take his place in the Preston squad, if not in the starting line-up up front.

Defender Tom Williams will face a fitness test after limping off in midweek, during the 1-1 draw with Doncaster.

Forest will be without skipper Paul McKenna for their return to his former club.

But Kelvin Wilson and Robert Earnshaw both return after missing last weekend's win over Swansea with injury.

Joel Lynch and Julian Bennett both played another reserve friendly this week, but still lack match fitness.

Preston (from): Lonergan, Jones, St Ledger, Mawene, Williams, Davidson, Chaplow, James, Sedgwick, Treacy, Mayor, Coutts, Mellor, Parkin, Welbeck, Chilvers, Henderson, Brown, Hart.

Forest (from): Camp, Gunter, Morgan, Wilson, Chambers, Cohen, Anderson, Moussi, McGugan, Boyd, Majewski, Blackstock, Perch, McGoldrick, Adebola, McCleary, Tyson, Garner, Earnshaw, Smith, Lynch.

Danger man: Jon Parkin

The 'Beast' as he is affectionately known by the Preston fans, is a man mountain up front.

But, as well as his 6ft 3in 13-stone plus frame, the striker can also play a bit.

And four goals in his last six appearances have taken his tally to 12 for the season.

One to watch: Sean St. Ledger

The defender has spent a portion of the season on loan at Middlesbrough, who were considering a permanent move for the player before Gareth Southgate was replaced by Gordon Strachan.

The highly rated Ireland international remains a solid figure in the centre of the back four and is also a goal threat, netting to earn Preston a draw at Plymouth last weekend.
