After the Scot gave them a list of targets ahead of the January transfer window, one player, George Boyd (pictured), finally arrived at the City Ground, on loan from Peterborough for the rest of the season.
I'm sure Davies is still wondering what happened to the rest, why, with the Reds challenging for promotion into the Premier League, more players he wanted were not signed to bolster their ambitions. Why the likes of Victor Moses got away?
I would be, if I was in his shoes. It's not the first time it's happened either, every man and his dog knows the acquisitions panel at the City Ground does not work.
With a couple of weeks still left before the loan window closes, I just hope Forest can add one or two more players to their squad.
They still need a left-back, they have done since they lost Nicky Shorey.
Boyd looks a good signing, at least. He is clearly a goalscoring midfielder, having scored 12 goals for Posh this season.
If he can score that many in a team struggling against relegation out of the Championship, hopefully he can score even more in an attack-minded Forest team gunning for promotion.
You can never have enough goals in your team. The more match-winners you have the better, and Forest have got quite a few.
It takes the pressure off the front men too, if other players are chipping in with goals. Forest can't expect Dexter Blackstock and Robert Earnshaw to keep scoring to fire their promotion hopes.
