It had been speculated that Allardyce, who has been out of work since his ill-fated spell at the helm of Newcastle United, would be interested in a job at the City Ground.
But he is believed to be holding out for a new post in the Premiership.

It is also believed Forest would have concerns over the size of backroom staff Allardyce traditionally likes to bring with him to clubs.
