Kirkby out to halt the Louth title charge

Saturday, October 31, 2009, 07:00

ALL roads lead to The Summitt Centre today as second-place Kirkby Town host undefeated Supreme Division leaders Louth Town.

A win for the visitors will take them at least seven points clear at the top.

If Kirkby do lose, Forest Town could go second if they take maximum points against Southwell City, at the War Memorial Ground.

It's fourth versus fifth, with Clipstone Welfare travelling to Westella & Willerby. The home side are in a reach vein of form and are nicely placed to challenge the clubs above them.

Parramore Sports with successive defeats, both at home, will be looking to get the winning habit again, at Pinxton.

There's an interesting encounter at the Stag Ground, where Kimberley Town could extend visitors Newark Town.

Kinsley Boys will fancy their chances at Blidworth Welfare and Ollerton Town should make it back-to-back wins against Grantham Rangers at The Lane.

Sutton Town AFC had a good midweek win at Parramore and can build on that result at home against Calverton MW.

Premier Division leaders, Parkhouse travel to Hutton Cranswick United and it will be a surprise if they fail to take maximum points.

Second-placed Yorkshire Main are at Bentley Colliery, where the home team will be looking to make it three wins on the trot.

Church Warsop Miners Welfare, who are third, are at home to Bulwell United. They should win but the visitors are proving to be stern opposition this season.

Phoenix Sports & Social have suffered back-to-back defeats, including their first in the league last Saturday and they will be looking to bounce back against visitors FC 05.

Easington United entertain FC Brimington, while Thoresby Colliery Institute should make home advantage count against South Normanton Athletic.

Rock bottom Thorne Colliery, play Kiveton Park. Both have only one win so far this season and that could well still be the case after the match at Moorends Welfare.

There could be new leaders in the Abacus Lighting Reserves Supreme Division. Current leaders Carlton Town Res are without a game and Belper Town could go top if they win at Staveley MW.
