Forest to target loan signings

Friday, February 06, 2009, 08:00

NOTTINGHAM Forest will draw up a fresh list of potential targets for when the loan window opens on Monday.

But manager Billy Davies has also refused to rule out the possibility of making fresh bids for players the club failed to sign during the January transfer window.

The Reds made offers for at least four men in the final week of January, including Hibs skipper Rob Jones, winger Lee Croft of Norwich City and Dele Adebola, the Bristol City striker.

It is also believed they made an enquiry about goalkeeper Lee Camp, who had enjoyed a successful loan spell at the City Ground.

Having failed to agree financial packages with any of the clubs, Davies will now look again at potential players to bring in on loan.

And the manager will be given the backing to bring in players with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

When asked if it might be possible to resurrect deals for any of the players they had already targeted, Davies said: "Maybe that would be possible; we will have a look at that.

"We will also get our scouts looking around to see what is available in the loan market, to see who we can bring in.

"Our biggest concern at the minute is working to get some of our injured players back. But we will do all we can to bring people in."

Forest can officially sign players on emergency loan from Monday and, while the Football League guidelines require clubs to prove they need to add new faces to their squad to be able to compete, the club should have no problem doing so given its crippling injury list.

It was yesterday confirmed James Perch suffered concussion in the cup replay against Derby and will therefore miss the visit of QPR to the City Ground tomorrow.

Joe Garner will return from suspension and Brendan Moloney can be involved again after being cup-tied in midweek.

But none of the nine players still on the casualty list will have any chance of playing.
