Forest boss Davies keeps feet firmly on the ground
Forest eased away from the Coca-Cola Championship relegation zone after goals from Robert Earnshaw and Paul Anderson earned them a 2-0 win.
Davies said: "I could not have asked for a better start but we're certainly not getting carried away with it.
"When I arrived the aim was to make this football club safe in the Championship this season – and that's still the aim.
"I've had a great response from the players and they have been a joy to work with. They showed a lot of discipline and energy in their play and the only disappointment was that we gave the ball away too easily in the second half.
"But we will work on that in training next week because there is a long way to go and a lot of hard work to be done. The important thing is that we have got three fantastic points against a well organised side."
Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock is worried at his sides lack of firepower.
He said: "We don't know where the next goal is coming from and it is putting a lot of pressure on us defensively.
"I believe there are players in the squad capable of getting the goals we need but at the moment they appear to be playing mind games with themselves.
"We've taken one point from five games and that is relegation material but we now have ten days before the next match to sort ourselves out and get back to what we were doing earlier in the season.
"It was always going to be a hard season for us but we now have an opportunity to regroup and there's also an opportunity for players on the periphery to show that they are the men for the job."
