Cohen: Forest can still target play-offs
Cohen, who shone despite Saturday's frustrating 2-1 home defeat, said the Reds current 20th position in the table is false and is confident the wins will come.
"I don't think Burnley had another chance apart from the two goals and we had enough chances to win.
"I think Nathan Tyson found the only bobble on the City Ground pitch when he was put through in the first half and nine times out of ten he would have scored.
"To see us sitting in 20th place with just four points from five games looks bad, but we are not playing that bad apart from the Wolves game."
The former Yeovil Town man said he had spoken to Burnley manager Owen Coyle after Saturday's game.
"He told me that we will have no problem picking up results," said Cohen. "I think we have better footballers in the team than last season and I think we can still look at the play-offs."
Cohen said a big positive from the Burnley clash was the performance of Reds left-back and former Academy player Joe Heath.
"He's a good friend of mine and did himself justice with his performance. It was no reflection on him that he got taken off before the end as we were chasing the game. He's clued up and knows that Jules (Julian Bennett) is the number one left-back and that he won't get 40 games this season. He's told me that if he can't get opportunities here this season then he will be look to go out on loan to get more experience."
Cohen also had words of praise for the Forest fans. "The fans know that this year is going to be tough, but they appreciate the way we are trying to play," he said. "We've just got to stick at it."
