CML: Kimberley off bottom as Kirkby go top

KIMBERLEY Town moved off the bottom of the Buckingham Insurance Supreme Division with a well-deserved 4-1 victory over Clipstone Welfare at the Stag Ground.

Roy Sharp, Graham Bowen, Steve Kirkham and Anthony Canbelle all scored with Rob Clark replying for Clipstone.

Kirkby Town are the new league leaders after they thrashed Grantham Rangers 7-0.

Jason Edwards and Carl Haslem both struck twice with Kyle Ludlow, Scott Pratt and Kye Pillmore adding the others.

Louth Town drop to second as they were involved in a Quartet Catering League Challenge Cup first round tie and beat Premier Division Dronfield Town 2-1.

The match between the third and fourth placed clubs, Westella & Willerby and Forest Town, ended in a 1-1 draw.

Andy Coverdale put the East Riding club in front from a penalty but Mike Taylor equalised just before half time.

Parramore Sports lost ground on the leaders, losing 3-0 at Newark Town, a result that took the Collingham club up to sixth.

The Ellison brothers, Mark and Simon, were on target and Sam Wilford added the other Newark goal.

Ollerton Town set themselves up for their FA Vase clash next week with Gresley by winning 3-2 at home against Kinsley Boys. Gary Panting hit the late winner.

Goals by Ben Allinson and two from Kieron Watson gave Southwell City a 3-1 win at Blidworth Welfare. Richard Mills scored for the hosts.

Bottom-club Nettleham took a 2-0 lead at Calverton MW but the home team hit back through Chris Myton (2) and Gareth Clarkson to win 3-2.

Harworth CI beat Pinxton 4-2 at Scrooby Road. Ben Bacon and Danny Evans the Pinxton marksmen.

There was a shock defeat for the Black Dragon Premier Division leaders Parkhouse, who lost 3-2 at home to FC Brimington.

With both Church Warsop Miners Welfare and Yorkshire Main not having league games, Phoenix Sports and Social took advantage to move up to second, four points behind Parkhouse with a game in hand.

Phoenix had a comfortable 4-1 win against visitors Hutton Cranswick United.

First half goals by Andy Eley and Adam Gratton gave South Normanton Athletic the points at Bentley Colliery.

Richard Philpot netted the only goal of the game for FC 05, ensuring the points for the home team, against Thorne Colliery.

In an even encounter, bottom club Kiveton Park shared the points at draw specialists Easington United, the game ending 1-1.

Belper Town Reserves have opened up a three point lead at the top of the Abacus Lighting Reserves Supreme Division, a goal in each half by Sam Johnson and Josh Egginton, gave the Nailers a 2-0 against Radford Reserves.

There was another heavy defeat for bottom club Heanor Town Reserves as visitors Staveley Miners Welfare cruised to a 7-0 victory, with Teo Ringrose netted a hat-trick for the visitors.

Dronfield Town Reserves continue to take the Abacus Lighting Reserves Premier Division by storm as second-placed Harworth Colliery Institute Reserves could not dent the home team's perfect record at Stonelow Playing Fields. Dronfield won 2-1.

Third-placed Calverton Miners Welfare Reserves dropped two vital points, only drawing 2-2 with Kiveton Park Reserves.

Newark Town Reserves recorded a 3-0 win against Clipstone Welfare Reserves.

Nettleham Reserves have yet to win and suffered another defeat, this time at the hands of Pinxton Reserves, losing 3-1.

Ollerton Town Reserves won 4-0 at Thoresby Colliery Welfare Reserves.
