Burns: Good luck Cloughie - but Forest can still finish higher

NIGEL Clough has taken up the hot seat at Derby County.

We all know his dad worked wonders there before achieving even bigger things with Nottingham Forest.

So Clough has links with Derby, despite making his name as a player under his legendary father at the City Ground.

Is it the right appointment? We will soon find out.

What we do know is he did a great job at Burton Albion and has left them in a healthy position at the top of the Blue Square Premier.

He has learned his trade but this is a whole different challenge.

And I tell you something, although people say he is very different to his father, he has plenty of similarities as well.

I have heard him say when they have the ball, they can create chances and do not have to worry about the opposition, no matter who it is. That is something his dad would say. The opposition cannot play if you do not let them have the ball.

And his dad was such a genius, he would be daft not to take on board the lessons he has learned from him.

So good luck to Nigel but, despite that, I still want Forest to dump them out of the FA Cup and finish higher in the league.

And I honestly believe they can do it.
