The biggest treasure find in Notts in recent years was a 2,000-year-old Celtic choker near Newark in 2005.

The object, now known as the Newark Torc, was declared treasure under the Treasure Act, after being discovered in February 2005.

Newark and Sherwood District Council bought the item for £350,000, with the money being split between the finder and the owner of the field.
