TWO failed asylum seekers were arrested after a raid on a city centre takeaway.

Officers from the UK Border Agency swooped on Max's Pizza takeaway in Alfreton Road on August 26.

Two 24-year-old men, from Afghanistan and Iran, who were failed asylum seekers with no right to work, were arrested.

The UK Border Agency is now taking steps to remove both men from the country.

The takeaway was issued with an on-the-spot penalty notice for employing illegal workers and may now face a fine of up to £20,000.

Phil Dyer, of UK Border Agency East Midlands, said: "Illegal working is unfair on honest employers who recruit staff with the right to work in the UK and who pay them a proper salary.

"We will continue to support those companies who seek to comply with the law.

"But bosses who don't play by the rules will lose the right to recruit staff from outside Europe, face on the spot fines and could potentially end up in jail."

“If you can come across many other countries to get to this land then what are your real reasons? maybe it's our easy money and lifestye thats draws them in. It's about time we kicked them all out and then got the lazy to fill the jobs that they leave behind.
    This Country is FULL.”

    “Dave,
The evening post and this website reports on stories every single day of people breaking the law. Hardly ever is there a story with a full breakdown of the criminal's family history and the reasons which may have led them to commit their criminal act.

So why the hell should the Post print a full balanced account with full mitigating circumstances when its an illegal immigrant committing an offence when they wouldn't for anyone else.

I think you are guilty of a similar one sided blinkered view that you accuse the Post of holding. You are obviously far too involved in migrants rights to have a 'balanced' opinion.”

“michael and (other) Steve: Two more what, desperate people who need help? Yes, I suppose you're right. And the "joke" here is people who have plenty but seem to have lost their humanity.
Dave: To be fair, this is a paragraph and they've devoted more space recently to more positive, nuanced stories about asylum seekers.”

“I wonder why the Post faithfully reprints every press release they get from UKBA but very rarely print anything else about asylum seekers?
