THREE Vietnamese people have been caught working illegally in two Nottingham nail bars.

Officers from the UK Border Agency swooped on Five Star Nails in the Square in Beeston on June 21 and found a Vietnamese couple, aged 40 and 43, who were both failed asylum seekers.

They then went to Five Star Nails in King's Walk where they found a 30-year-old Vietnamese man who was also working illegally.

He was also a failed asylum seeker.

Both businesses were issued with on-the-spot penalty notices for employing illegal workers and may now face a fine of up to £10,000 per illegal worker.

Phil Dyer, UK Border Agency assistant director, said: "Every week our officers visit businesses across the East Midlands pulling the plug on the illegal jobs which lure illegal immigrants to come to the UK.

"Illegal working is unfair on honest employers who recruit staff with the right to work in the UK and who pay them a proper salary."

The UK Border Agency will now try and remove the three from the country as soon as possible.

In May three Vietnamese people - two women aged 22 and 47, and a 21-year-old man - were found to be working illegally at New York Nails in Upper Parliament Street. All three were failed asylum seekers.

“Yet another UKBA press release regurgitated here. The Post promotes and cheerleads for state repression.”
