My Weekend: Katherine Jenkins

Friday, December 04, 2009, 07:30

The soprano loves to stay in at the weekend with Jack Bauer for company.

MY idea of a perfect weekend would begin with a really nice lie-in. On both days. And then really just catching up with friends. Going to certain areas of London and getting lunch in a little cafe or having a Sunday dinner.

I'd have a night in on Saturday watching Strictly Come Dancing and X-Factor.

Pretty boring really but it's quite nice to do something really chilled out when I'm so busy.

I have been watching FlashForward as well. It's a new thing from America that's like 24. I love 24. The new series can't come fast enough.

And I have been watching The Tudors. I love that programme. It's a shame it's finished now.

I'm so into the Tudor period that I'm reading books about it as well. I'm in the middle of reading Constant Princess by the lady who wrote The Other Boleyn Girl (Philippa Gregory).

At home if I'm listening to music it'll be so many different styles. From Michael Buble, Take That, Kylie, Amy Winehouse and Barbra Streisand.

If I'm in the car and I have the radio on I'll tend to listen to Classic FM, of course, or Capital if I'm in London and Heart, the station for the ladies.

To keep fit I run. I recently finished my first 10K event in Cardiff. But I do love my food. I'm veggie, so I don't eat meat and that kind of limits me when I'm in a restaurant.

I love a mushroom pizza or a tuna salad nicoise.

I do go to the cinema when I can. I saw Fame and it was terrible. Absolutely shocking. I have seen the original and I was really disappointed by this new version. It just didn't tick any of the boxes I thought it would.

I have been busy promoting my album (Believe) but I have found time to go to the theatre as well. I went to Sister Act: The Musical in the West End. It was absolutely amazing.

So much better than Fame. Don't waste your money. Go and see Sister Act.

Katherine Jenkins appears at the Trent FM Arena on Sunday, March 7, supported by Escala. Tickets are £25 to £55 from the venue, call 08444 124624 or visit www.trentfmarenanottingham.com
