Boy George joins Here & Now Tour 2009

BOY George, Kim Wilde, Pete Burns from Dead or Alive, Kid Creole & the Coconuts, Altered Images, Brother Beyond and Hazel O Connor will line-up for the Here & Now Tour 2009, including a date at the Trent FM Arena.

The 80s stars are to appear in Nottingham on Saturday May 16.

Tickets will go on sale October 17.

It's the eighth tour under the Here & Now banner. In May, Rick Astley, Bananarama, Paul Young, ABC, Curiosity Killed the Cat, Johnny Hates Jazz and Cutting Crew appeared at the Trent FM Arena.

2009 - THE LINE-UP

BOY GEORGE – is a British icon and who, both as the lead singer of one of the most successful bands of the 80's Culture Club and as a solo artist, has had a wealth of hits worldwide winning both Brit and Grammys awards. Culture Club, who was the first band to have three top ten hits from a debut album since The Beatles, spawned the No 1 hits Do You Really Want To Hurt Me and Karma Chameleon as well as seven other top ten hits – Time (Clock Of The Heart) (No. 3), Church Of The Poison Mind (No. 2), Victims (No. 3), It's A Miracle (No. 4), The War Song (No. 3), Move Away (No. 7) and I Just Wanna Be Loved (No. 4). As a solo star he went onto have further success with Everything I Own (No.1), To Be Reborn (No. 13), The Crying Game (No. 22) amongst others and with his other band Jesus Loves You – Bow Down Mister. Combined sales from Culture Club and Boy George have exceeded 100 million singles and 50 million albums worldwide.

KIM WILDE – the enigmatic blonde bombshell is returning to the Here & Now fold after an absence of five years of playing live in the UK (she's the only act to have performed on three tours previously, coming out of 15 years retirement to do so.) She's hanging up her gardening gloves to belt out her hits such as Chequered Love (No. 2), Cambodia (No. 12), You Came (No. 3), Four Letter Word (No. 6) You Keep Me Hanging On (No. 2), View From A Bridge (No. 16), Never Trust A Stranger (No. 7), If I Can't Have You (No. 12) and the No 2. hit Kids In America. Wilde has sold over 20 million singles and 10 million albums worldwide.

PETE BURNS (DEAD OR ALIVE) The first group to sell over one million 12" singles and responsible for PWL's biggest selling single with You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) reaching No 1 in 32 countries. Other hits included: Lover Come Back To Me (No. 11), In Too Deep (No. 14), Brand New Lover (No. 31), Something In My House (No. 12) and That's The Way (I Like It) (No. 22). More recently Pete has been the subject of his own TV show for Living called Pete's PA following an infamous stint on Celebrity Big Brother alongside Michael Barrymore.

KID CREOLE & THE COCONUTS - stormed the charts throughout the 80s with hits that include Annie, I'm Not Your Daddy (No. 2), Stool Pigeon (No.7) and I'm A Wonderful Thing, Baby (No. 4). In recent years Kid Creole has toured The UK & Europe in the stage show Oh, What A Night.

ALTERED IMAGES - fronted by Clare Grogan, the band had hits with Happy Birthday (No.2), I Could Be Happy (No. 7), See Those Eyes (No. 11) and Don't Talk To Me About Love (No. 7). Clare first came to light when spotted by Gregory's Girl film director Bill Forsyth whilst working as a waitress, and was immediately cast in the lead role alongside John Gordon Sinclair. She went onto have a parallel careers as an actress, singer and presenter appearing in the Bill Forsyth film Comfort & Joy and prime time TV roles which have included Alan Bleasdale's Monocled Mutineer, Blott In The Landscape, Red Dwarf, Father Ted and Eastenders.

BROTHER BEYOND – fronted by Nathan Moore, they had their first hit PWL, The Harder I Try (No. 2). He Ain't No Competition (No. 6), Be My Twin (No. 14) and Can You Keep A Secret (No. 21) followed. After the band split Moore went on to front the Simon Cowell assembled boy band Worlds Apart.

HAZEL O CONNOR – the first major female star of the 80s, she starred in the cult film Breaking Glass alongside Phil Daniels, Jim Broadbent and Jonathan Price. She won the Variety Club of Great Britain's' 1980 Film Actress Of The Year award and was also nominated for Best Newcomer. Her hits included Eighth Day (No. 5), D-days (No. 10) and Will You (No. 8). This year she performed at the Glastonbury Festival.
