“I reported the spam on a number of occasions but only a couple were removed. It is fairly obvious that there is no routine monitoring.”

    “Bill-
Before condemning their lack of objectivity, maybe you should remember that to reach the high level of morality set by its parent company, the Daily Mail, the NP does have certain double standards to maintain.

Last year, when Christian "persecution" cases reached the point where it seemed every single Christian in the country was whingeing on about not being able to wear a cross at work, or being "forced" to compromise their oh so important Christian values by having to treat gay people as equals, the DM was at the forefront of a campaign of distortion, obfuscation, and downright lies in the reporting of these cases, and went to great lengths to convince the public that it was all a secular plot to destroy Christianity. And their cavalier attitude towards subtlety and diplomacy didn't seem to diminish when they allowed some pea brained half wit on this forum to publish an instruction manual on how to avoid paying for a TV licence.
Was this arrogant postulating seen as a green light for obtrusive behaviour, or an attempt to defraud the TV licensing Services ?
Er...no. Not by the NP anyway, who kept the post up for ages. Indeed, It may still be there. In contrast, several of my comments have been removed because of their "inappropriate nature" and for being "offensive" to Christians. So once again, power, influence, and a strategic use of privilege take precedence over the right to free speech.

There is monitoring Bill, but as with everything else in our class ridden society, it's just another exercise in selectivity.

That's why we can't settle for half measures concerning freedom of speech.”

“Sorry Gordon I missed this posting, wasn't ignoring you. I just felt it was that no one at the NP could be bothered or possibly I was the only one who complained, more than any plot or policy. As regards the odd posting you have had removed I think it would be because there are the occasional times when you do go rather over the top and can be downright offensive and breach the house rules. The other thing is that they have to be very careful of their own legal situation. Looking back over your years of postings I don't think you do too badly in getting your views heard. As I have said before I believe strongly in free speech but also believe it carries responsibilities. Some recent TV shows are prime examples.”
