“POLICE COMMISONERSEach chief Constable use the resources at their disposal to police their area, the Home office sets guidelines for them to use on a national basis, which has worked so far with a local police authority overseeing the running of forces on a more local level.A single Police Commissioner will have his own political affiliations and is more prone to persuasion by his own political party than a panel of councilors as was the case beforehand. One man will have the power to sack a Chief Constable if he deems it to be necessary .This is another blatant move away from democracy ,and totally smacks of EU interference. It is expected to have a low turnout today for the elections, but will this give the Government any indicator that the general public have seen through them - no they already know but don't care.http://tinyurl.com/9ssygmt”
