“"Creation and evolution
From the Lutheran church's website:-
"The ELCA has not adopted an official position on creation or evolution, but "there is general agreement on interpreting the Bible within its historical contexts and applying critical methods of research"
Roughly translated, this means "Although we know evolution is a FACT, we don't recognise it as such because doing so would render the Genesis "explanation" of how life evolved as the delusional garbage it clearly is. Looking down on your personal fiefdom and shouting "let the earth produce all kinds of animal life" doesn't really stack up against millions of years of genetic change, does it?, but hey, why let facts destroy the biggest confidence trick of all time" ?
"there is general agreement on interpreting the Bible within its historical contexts and applying critical methods of research"
Well there may be agreement amongst the gullible numptys who prefer fiction to fact, but it ain't so for anyone prepared to do a bit of scientific research.
The bible's "historical context" is Orwellian Newspeak for a book that explains nothing about our origins or the subsequent development of life, so as far as I'm concerned, the Lutheran church behind this feeble attempt to put a liberalist slant on hard faced organised religion should be treated with the same contempt as all the other Wendy house saviours of the soul.
Last year the assets of this church were over 65 million dollars. What a wonderful exercise in how to squeeze money from the poor and gullible"”

“Thanks for drawing my attention to Mike Lake's article - it was interesting reading and I agree with most of what was said. I have a small element of doubt over Hashimoto being Dave Lake - the latter says he draws the line at offending individuals, but I've seen Hashimoto be positively rude on accasions.”

“@grammamamma
It's definitely him, check out all of the other blogs that Mike Lake has submitted to the DT, all with the same Hashimoto style anti-religous themes. Also note that not in one of them does Hashimote, Bertysteapot or Kompressor880 (his latest alias in the DT) comment....why because he and MIke Lake are one and the same. He only offends when using one his many alias's which confirms my belief that deep down he is a very bitter, twisted and tormented person.”

“Hashimoto - or anyone else interested in an alternastive view of religion - have you explored the site Virtual Church of The Blind Chihuahua? I'm sure you'll find it very interesting, even if you disagree with it.”
