No chance for drag hunting
REFERRING to Douglas Batchelor's letter ("Help us to back law on hunting", Letters, August 23), it mentioned the regret that there is little drag hunting in practice at present.
The main reason for this is possibly because those who delight in hunting are only familiar with it in its traditional form. But if drag hunting was seriously established, it would soon invoke a similar kind of enthusiasm.
They could have different coloured bundles, signifying different types and strengths of scent. It would then only require a few battery-powered motor cycles to tow them out.
They could mount wall shields, inscribed to veteran hunters.
But how are we going to enjoy such things, if the hunts drag their heels (rather than bundles) and continue to refuse to experiment with this interesting new version of an ancient sport?

“Thats because you know absolutely nothing about the two, Drag Hunting and proper Foxhunting, Drag Hunting will never take over the roll, but if you have never done it you would not know but just make an ignorant comment from a probable ignorant person”
