Six of the best invited to honours celebration
SIX city residents awarded New Year's Honours have attended a reception at the Council House in Nottingham.
Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire Sir John Peace, Lord Mayor Leon Unczur, and Sheriff of Nottingham Merlita Bryan welcomed them.
Those honoured were Graham Shaw, assistant chief driving examiner at the Driving Standards Agency; Michaela Keon Butter, co-director of Embrace Arts, the University of Leicester's arts centre; paddlers Etienne Stott and Tim Baillie, gold medalists at the Olympics; ex-city council chief executive Jane Todd, who retired through ill-health, and Stephen Regel, co-director and principal psychotherapist of Nottinghamshire Healthcare's Centre for Trauma, Resilience and Growth in St Ann's.
Mr Unczur said: "This is a lovely event, because we can talk to these people in a comfortable and informal manner, and thank them on behalf of the city for their marvellous work and achievements."
