A SCHEME which helps young people gain mechanics' qualifications has won two national awards.

Wheelbase in Newark Street, Sneinton, received the National Training Awards at a ceremony in Birmingham.

Chief executive Mick Clifford said: "Wheelbase has an innovative view of how to change lives and the awards recognise that."

Coun Mick Newton, chairman of Young Nottingham, said: "Wheelbase deserves to be recognised."
