“ This is a great museum, and is set in wonderful gardens. The lake is beautiful in summer and in winter when you can watch for hours as the ducks try and skate. It's great to go for a picnic or a little lunch in the cafe, and the outdoor steam areas of the museum and factory style attractions are really interesting. ”

“Newstead Abbey is a really beautiful retreat from the city. The gardens are gorgeous and free to get into so well worth taking a book or a picnic and escaping for the day. The abbey itself is also well worth a visit although I think it may only be open on Sundays now for pre-booked tours so worth looking into before making the visit.”

“I remember visiting Newstead Abbey as a child and absolutely loving it. I loved to explore the gardens and discovering the little huts and standing behind the waterfall. I went back again last bank holiday after a few years and loved it just as much, but in a more mature way! The gardens are lovely, and still maintain a bit of magic for me - and I still like the waterfall!”

“I have a season ticket for here, I love to come and wonder around all year long, with or without my kids. The kids love the waterfall which you can walk behind and the play area. I love the peace and tranquility of the lake and grounds. A must if you haven't been before.”

“The title of my review maybe a bit rubbish but Newstead Abbey certainly is not! Went there on a Sunday for a nice relaxing stroll and a picnic except it was raining and I got chased by a Peacock. That said, there was enough foliage around to shelter us from the rain and we had a lovely time. I reccommend the Japanese Garden.”
