Tributes have flooded in for Nathan on Facebook. A tribute page attracted more than 400 members in 48 hours.

One post by Ellie Price read: "I woke up this morning thinking you would be here with us all, I can't stop thinking of you and that beautiful smile you had!"

Another by Sam Roberts said: "R.I.P nathan lad u were a sound guy, feeling so much for you and ya family much love bro u didnt deserve this man."

User Crystal Price said: "...life is too short to fall out with each other let's all stick together for Nathan's family & give him the best send off anyone could have!"

Shanice Sullivan said: "Nathan Somers; was a lively boy always up for a good one and always had your back...my thoughts go out to his family and close friends."

The park was cordoned off over the weekend while forensics officers searched for clues.

Detectives conducted inquiries, including speaking to a witness and checking CCTV footage.

A Newark resident, 38, who was out on Saturday morning, said: "I walk my dogs around here a lot and normally feel quite safe, even at night.

"It's terrible someone has been found dead there. It's sad to think there is a family out there that has lost someone."

Councillor Keith Girling, who represents Newark on Notts County Council, said: "That park is used as a cut-through by a lot of people and I'm sure they will be horrified to hear what has happened."

A post-mortem examination found Nathan was killed by a stab wound.

Five people were arrested initially – a 27-year-old man, two 18-year-old men and boys aged 17 and 16.

Another 18-year-old man was arrested yesterday.
