Wood you believe it? Tiles mean easy style
IF you've always fancied some outdoor decking but dismissed the idea because of the hassle involved in keeping it in peak condition, there is a solution at hand.
Nottingham-based East Midlands Ceramics has launched a new tile recreating the look of real wood decking – promising it will be able to withstand the very worst the British weather can throw at it.

Decked out: Attractive and hardwearing ceramic tile wood look-alike decking is poised to revolutionise the traditional garden deck.
The "fake" tiles are made of tough, resilient porcelain and are virtually indistinguishable from the real thing, says managing director Barry Slawson.
As well as being really easy to lay, these tiles will look good for many years.

Barry adds: "These new wood look-alike decking tiles are perfect for all applications where you may want to use wooden decking.
"They will never rot, they don't need regular weatherproofing to keep them in peak condition, they will resist heavy usage, they won't be damaged by staining or sparks or embers from a barbecue, and they will look great all year round."
The development of wood lookalike products is taking the ceramic tile industry by storm, Barry explains.
They were a prominent feature of this year's International Ceramic Tile Exhibition in Bologna and are giving designers brilliant new opportunities to replace traditional wood products with something more hard-wearing – but without any loss of attractiveness.
"It's a significant breakthrough that will be welcomed by gardeners and home owners who may have been reluctant to invest in a fashionable deck because of the hassles involved in the upkeep," Barry says.
"Now they can have the best of both worlds - great-looking decking they don't have to worry about."
