Woman fell through ice at Attenborough reservoir
FIREFIGHTERS had to rescue a woman who had fallen into a frozen reservoir on Saturday.
The woman had walked into a lake at the Attenborough Nature Reserve in Beeston at around 6pm.
When the ice broke, the 35-year-old woman from Derbyshire fell into the water, and two concerned members of the public contacted the police and Notts Fire and Rescue Service.
Firecrews from Highfields Fire Station had to use four inflatable dinghies to bring the woman to safety.
The woman - who had been reported missing by her family - was taken to the Queens Medical Centre suffering from hypothermia.
The rescue took the fire service around one hour ten minutes to complete.
Notts Police said people should exercise extreme caution during the cold weather and to stay away from frozen water.

“@ LadyJue - I think you are being a little harsh calling this unfortunate woman "stupid". The post clearly states that she had been reported missing by her family indicating that she wasn't of sound mind at the time.
However, I do agree with you that some "sane" people sometimes do stupid things like walking on ice putting others at risk.”
