Woman, 74, hurt by bag snatcher in Langley Mill

POLICE are appealing for information after a 74-year-old woman was robbed as she got out of her car.

The incident happened at around 9pm on Monday as the victim parked her car on Turner Avenue in Langley Mill.

The pensioner was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her handbag, causing her to fall to the floor and bang her head.

He ran off with the bag in the direction of Andrews Drive.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The offender is described as white, around 5ft 7in and wearing a dark coat with the hood up and a black scarf over his mouth.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Derbyshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

    “It also falls within Derbyshire county, the NG Postcode doesn't give a Nottinghamshire address on Royal Mail's Postal Address File, thisisnottingham often makes this error. It does have the correct crest, as used today on a Heanor article today.”

    “Lol, Langley Mill may be an NG postcode, but it falls under the jusristiction of Amber Valley / Ripley Police!
    Its really rare to hear about happenings like this in't'Mill. There is however the odd scumbag hoody seen walking around, matching the description exactly... I'll be sure to flatten the b*stard if I see him before dumping him up at RIPLEY police station!”
