NEW league leaders Linby have a weekend off, which gives Wollaton a chance to regain the top spot.

However Gedling Southbank have big ambitions themselves and will be looking to close the gap on the leading sides.

Sixth-placed GSB welcome title-chasing Wollaton to Carlton Hill.

GSB are now only five points behind them and will have Joe Whittle, Lee Elliott, Dean Wylie and Danny Gee back available.

GSB: Leavesley, Scott, Graham, Steele, Hallam, Milbourne, Armstrong, Rhodes, Reedman, Clowery, Allcock, Guervouay, Wiley, Whittle, Elliott, Gee, Garment.

Second-placed Wollaton were back to winning ways in the cup last weekend. They will be looking to get back to the top of the table and now have three away fixtures in a row.

There looks to be some juggling with top scorer Matty Turner away on holiday and a hamstring problem for Scott Huckerby. Also out are long term injuries, Jermaine Shread and Darren Standage.

With Roy Sharp hitting form, Danny Chaplin being close to fitness and Mr Gadsby looking to return to the WSA, there looks to be close competition for the blues strike force. In the mean time the impressive James Allen may cover up front.

Things are certainly getting close at the top and transfer activity at the top four or five sides is tipped to be on the increase over the coming weeks.

Fifth-placed Awsworth Villa welcome a strong Basford United side to the Shilo. Back from injury are Steve Thompson and Tom Morton.

Villa: West, Keetley , Horton, George, Baker, Danylzyszn, Froggatt, Scott, Hargreaves, Henson, Hughes, Wright, Saxton, McGrath, Robinson, Thompson, Morton.

Basford joint-managers Andy Benner and Chris Munroe look likely to include either of the second team top goal scorers Courtney Bartlett or Don Loscalzo for a replay of the opening day league game away to Awsworth that was won 3-2 by United.

Youngster Bartlett has been a revelation in the reserves since moving up from last year's Basford third team.

Basford are missing Adam Palmer and John Manders and Russ Best are major doubts through injury.

Johnny Bower should be fit to return for the game, and James Hendry who has bagged a goal a game since returning from Russia, is in line to start.

Basford: Beaumont, Willows, Knapcyk D, Bennett, Hart, Dimech, Best ,Clarke, Loscalzo J,Oakes, MacPherson, Walker D, Bower,Bartlett, Loscalzo D, Walker K,Hendry, Manders, Knapcyk E.

After a narrow defeat in the Notts senior cup at Blidworth, Bilborough Pelican manager Darren Saunders has several injury doubts, for their home match against Boots (Lenton Lane 2.30pm).

Definitely out are Sean Allen and John Hunt. Joe Staley faces a fitness test on his damaged ankle. Skipper Tony Boulton is away but Daniel Henshaw returns.

New signing Scott Harlow is included in the following squad:

Pelican: Johnson, Henshaw, Foss, Dexter, Hardy, Harlow, Russell, Rankin, Bowler, Thompson, Gadsby, Evans, Eastwood, Staley.

Boots travel to Pelican for the local derby without midfielder Greg Whatnall who serves the final week of a six-match ban.

The Chemists, who were very unlucky to lose to Clipstone on penalties in the Notts Senior Cup last week, welcome back Richard Jackson but have injury doubts over Kevin McArdle and Dane Rawson.

Boots: Bonser, Forde, Saunders, Hutchinson, Bowles, Holt, Peach, Jones, Smith, Rees, McArdle, Boulter, Winch, Jackson, Rawson, Miles.

Cotgrave were buoyed by their victory away at Awsworth last weekend and are another side looking to challenge for the title.

They have added new signings this week in Paul Archer from CML side Radcliffe Olympic and EMFL player, Nick Marshall from Dunkirk, as they look to the visit of Attenborough.

Cotgrave: P Nicholls, Thorpe, R Nicholls, Horton, Plummer, Macdonald, Springthorpe, Robinson, Royston, Vipond, Green, Draper, Brodski, Wheat, Penley, Shaw, Johnson, Astill, Archer, Marshall.

Paul Hemingsley's Boro side will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's cup defeat. They have only won two games but both against title favourites, Cavaliers and Wollaton.

Boro: Heathcote, Kinsella, Oldham, Kitson, Hallem, South, Lawrence, Leith, Ivanov, Stewart, Richards, Whatmore, Gee, Bagshaw, Birtles, Phillips, Repton, Spencer, Scoffham, Oldham, Constable, Towerzy.

Wollaton: Worster, Barker, Beck, Bannister, Hawkes, Gallivan, Humphries, Murray, Marks, Howard, Allen, White, B Turner, Sharp, Hogg, Scott, Hamed.

Third-from-bottom Kimberley MW, host a vastly improving Caribbean Cavalier's at Digby Street.

Cavs sit in mid-table and will be looking for their fourth win in a row. They welcome back Tom Simpson after a long injury, but are without Jayford Henry who has work commitments.

Cavaliers: Martt, Foster, Simms, Perkins, Faulkner, Smith, Staples, Burke, Brown, Evans, Joseph, Simpson, Brade, Williams, Carlton, Soar, Ricketts.

At the Bestwood workshops, Dave Raynor's police side welcome Magdala Amateurs.

The Police gained a victory last week beating Hucknall Rolls. This leaves them mid table and three points being Saturday's opposition with two games in hand.

Police: Parlatt, McCarthy, Bainbridge, Walker, Ward, Mercer, McDonagh, Collopy, Holloway, Savage, Carlisle, Smith, Taylor, Wilson, McKay, James.

Magdala come fresh from a goalless draw away at Hucknall Rolls and will be looking for three more points, which would keep them in touch with the leading pack.

Dala: Morely, Burnell, Kearns, Green, Lucas, Harrington, Lumsden, Charlton, Brown, Wooley, Hankinson, Whyman, Johnson, Calvert, Ellis, Robinson.

Bottom sides Ruddington and Clifton clash, with Steve Mc Dermott's Ruddington looking strong but struggling to turn battling draws into wins.

Ruddington: Marriott, Holtham, M Thomson, S Thomson, Shaw, G Russell, N Russell, McDermott, Allen, McGinty, Baker, Lowe, Robinson, Wallace, Thomas, Morgan, B Bailey, J Bailey, Carl Wilson.

After the recent sad passing of club founder Bill Norwell, the Whites will be pushing for local honours in his memory.

Steve Bee's side have had a torrid time of late, with management coming and goings and a merry go round of transfers.

Clifton: Carlisle, Hartshaun, Gibson, Legget, Bland, Murphy, Baker, Kill, C Bee, A Bee, Smith, Mitchell, Carver, Kirkby, Robinson, Langsdale, Smithson, Turner, Taylor, Starbuck.

Fixtures: Division 1: Basford United Reserves v Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves, Bilborough Town v Bilborough Pelican Reserves, Boots Athletic Reserves v Cotgrave Welfare Reserves, Gedling Southbank Reserves v Clifton Reserves, Keyworth United Reserves v Greenwood Meadows Reserves, Underwood Villa v Bulwell, Wollaton Reserves v Sandhurst
