Athletics: Notts AC will host the Midland Counties Cross Country Championships at Wollaton Park on Saturday.

About 2,000 runners are expected to take part, from U13 through to seniors.

The action gets underway at 11.30am with the U13 boys. Various age races will follow with the senior women's 8km race beginning at 2.25pm, following by the finale, the senior men's 12k race.

Notts AC chairman Mick Robinson said: "It is the first team we have hosted the event for about ten years, so it is a massive occasion for us and has taken a lot of time.

"It is the biggest thing we have done for a long time and there will be international runners on show. It should be a great day of racing."

Notts AC's Matt O'Dowd, who finished third last year, is looking to challenge again.
