NOTTINGHAM Panthers have completed their line-up for the 2010-11 season with the signing of defenceman Brock Wilson.

The 6ft 1ins 25-year-old blueliner was born in St Louis and followed up his Merrimack College career with three years of professional hockey at Stockton Thunder in the East Coast Hockey League, Flint Generals in the IHL, Albany River Rats in the AHL, then Augusta Lynx and Dayton Bombers in the ECHL.

He split last year between Toledo and Utah.

Coach Corey Neilson said: "I have known Brock for a long time. His father Rik is a former NHL d-man and Brock has lived and breathed hockey all his life.

"The way our team is set up, we needed a solid, stay-at-home defenceman to complete the roster and that's just what he is. He plays mean and ticks all the right boxes."

Wilson is likely to take some classes at the University of Derby as part of the club's link-up with them.

And Neilson says he is pleased with the Nottingham line-up for the forthcoming Elite League campaign.

"It's good. We've got a team of guys who all know they have to go out and earn their money every game we play," said Neilson.

"They all want to play in Nottingham and they're all ambitious. We've got goal-scoring, we've got physical presence, we've skills and speed and toughness when required.

"It's going to be a fantastic season. We've got record season ticket sales and everyone is excited."
