The court heard the vehicle was in a dangerous position in the dark and this could have led to a serious accident.

He was also said to have lied to police originally. There was a suggestion he had been drinking.

Justices jailed the 23-year-old, of Loughborough Road, to 12 weeks in prison because the offences were so serious.

They banned him from driving for six months.

“The worst bit is people have the time to actually come on here and run they're mouth about it. We're you there.... No! The gate wasn't damaged as the owner of the property owned up to just wanting a new one. And the resident next door said "it's a dangerous road bend. It's only a matter of time before some ones killed there" papers just love to make it sound worse. As for the cars 'dangerous position..... It was on the correct side of the rd. parked next to the curb. Evidence suggested I'd been drinking ???? What evidence! As the first person said the justice system is wrong. I watched a guy on tv steal a van, crash into a police car, carry on running, then decamp and get caught..... He received a community order ! If it was really al so serious with what I did the 6 month driving ban would have been a lot longer. As for the car. It's crushed.... Am I fussed... No! Just bought another one”

“A banking boss was fined just £2,640 after he risked the lives of his two young children in a high-speed police chase while three times over the drink-drive limit.
Scott Jarvis, head of HR and business banking at Barclays, escaped with the paltry fine – equivalent to about a week's wages – because magistrates said his long hours meant he would struggle to do community service.
Isobel, six, and George, three, were in the back of their father's BMW as, drunk on six cans of premium-strength lager, he swerved uncontrollably across the M1 late on a Saturday afternoon last month.
The 35-year-old high-flier, who earns a six-figure salary at the bank, admitted putting their lives at risk.
He was caught after police received a 999 call to report his erratic driving.
At first he refused to stop, careering away along the hard shoulder, but eventually he gave up. He parked his car at a dangerous angle on the side of the road, with its rear pointing out on to the motorway.

    So where's the justice here?”

    “A prison sentence for what?

For driving like an arrogant t w a t! Read my earlier post.

Maybe corrupt MPs and burglars should get stiffer sentences. But that's a completely different debate.

This guy drove line a twonk! We're better off with him off the road, if even only for a few weeks!”

“No injuries, suggestion of 'drink' but not charged, failing to stop and report accident to a wheelie bin. Was it a serious offence because it happened in Ravenshead or 'Raven Shead' as some would now like it to be known. No recognition for a 'guilty plea'. A prison sentence for what? is there more to it that has not been reported or do drivers get stiffer sentences than corrupt MP's, burglars etc.?”

    “Yes - this is justice!
The arrogant idiot either was drunk, or worse still sober and still can't drive properly.

He didn't intentionally crash, it was an accident. Because he wasn't paying attention. It could've easily have been a person at the receiving end of that.

I couldn't care less if he was a 'sound guy'. Does he think the law doesn't apply to him?”

“This is a complete **** take I've known David most of my years and he is a sound guy , the way the justice system works is a mockery and he is not a criminal. Is there is anyone injured? Im sure the bin will not suffer its plastic and regards the grass im sure that will grow back... people who commit far worse get suspended sentences..... Justice ?”
