West Bridgford move clear
Tennis: West Bridgford A moved clear at the top of Division Two of the Notts LTA men's Winter League following home wins against David Lloyd Aspley and Nottingham Castle.
The top couple against David Lloyd were Greg Hollin and Gavin Mallalue with 22 games, followed by Ben Rookes and James Taylor with 21 games.
Against Nottingham Castle, Chris Piggott and Nigel Cartwright won 27 games.
Sutton-in-Ashfield won a close match against Mansfield A in Division 4A to move into third place behind Caunton and Farnsfield A.
Callum Cross and Nigel Derbyshire won 20 games, which was matched by Don Cross and Roger Ecclestone.
A good all-round performance saw Retford dominate against Farnsfield B to move into third in Division 5B. Ian Young and Tom Hannah were the top pair with 28 games, while John Gazeley and Tom Bradley contributed 27 games.
Lady Bay B maintained their unbeaten run in Division 6A following a victory against Sutton-in-Ashfield B, where Chris Whale and Chris Roberts won 21 games.
Mansfield C won a close away match against Farnsfield C to move third in Division 6B. Paul Taylor and Garry Zurek were the dominant couple with 28 games.

The Grade 4 West Bridgford Indoor Veterans' Tournament attracted a good entry.
In the men's over-50 event, Tony Alexander (Notts) battled through some tough early matches to eventually beat the holder and top seed, Clive Johnson (Lancs) 6-2, 6-1, in the final.
Alexander then partnered Peter Whitehead (Notts) to beat Dave Brown and Mike Breslin (Yorks) 6-4, 7-6, in the final.
David Whitelaw (Yorks) was the surprise package in the men's over-60 event, beating the first and third seeds to reach the final, where he won a nail-biting contest against the No.2 seed John Taylor (Notts), 6-4, 1-6, 10-7.
He then teamed up with his Yorkshire team-mate Wilf Jessop to win the over-60 doubles, beating Eddie Fox (Notts) and Paul Denyer (Wilts) 6-4, 6-2, in the final.
In the women's over-50 singles, Ann Brown (Notts) and Shirley Fox (Leics) came through their round robin groups to contest a very competitive final which was won by Fox 4-6, 6-0, 10-1.
