CHURCH goers teamed up with a West Bridgford cafe and wine bar to raise money for charity.

Members of the clergy and congregation from St Giles' on Church Drive ran Belle & Jerome Cafe and Wine Bar in Central Avenue.

They were raising money for The Friary Drop-In Centre on Musters Road.

Belle and Jerome owner Rob Darby said: "The day went really well, and received great support from the community.

"As a result of all the hard work of the staff at Belle & Jerome, volunteers from St Giles' Church and the generosity of everyone who came in we raised £1557.23 on the day. I think we may also have achieved the world record for the most expensive chocolate brownie sold.

"I home-delivered two pieces of chocolate brownie on the day to a customer who happily paid £200 for them and then invited me to have a piece."
