Weekend of snow and strong winds forecast in Nottingham

Nottingham is set for a wintry weekend, with forecasts of snow, sub-zero temperatures and strong winds.

The Met Office predicts light snow from around 6am on Friday, and warns it will fall in varying degrees until Sunday morning.

A light flurry is expected to turn into heavy snow tomorrow evening, and temperatures could feel as low as -5C amid wind gusts of up to 37mph.

Heavy snow is forecast until around midday on Saturday, at which point it should reduce to a light flurry.

But the Met Office warns temperatures could feel as low as -6C and wind gusts could pick up to 35mph.

Light snow is forecast into the evening and overnight on Saturday, and the mercury could feel as low as -7C. Strong wind gusts of up to 30mph will remain, forecasters warn.

The snow is expected to have tailed off by Sunday afternoon, and sunny intervals are forecast in the evening. But it will remain cold and windy, the Met Office says.

Monday is set to be dry but cloudy, and temperatures could feel as low as -5C. Wind gusts could reach speeds of 37mph.
