A TEAM from Garibaldi College, in Mansfield, have helped EDF Energy to monitor river water.

Rebecca Wheatcroft, Richard Selby, James Whitehurst and Martin Langrick worked on the project to test water returned to the River Trent from West Burton Power Station.

Students gave more than 100 hours each to the six-month project. Engineers from EDF acted as mentors.

The culmination was a celebration at Loughborough University on April 21. Students presented project findings to 21 teams from across the region.

Pupils achieved the BA Crest award at gold standard as part of the scheme.
