War re-enactment set for Rufford
VISITORS at Rufford Abbey Country Park may feel they have stepped back into the 1940s during a nostalgia weekend.
The park, near Ollerton, was used as a training ground by troops in World War II, and on August 16 and 17 the sights, sounds and emotions of wartime years will be brought back to life.
Visitors will be able to see more than 230 re-enactors, including Winston Churchill, General Montgomery and many army, navy, air force, and wartime personnel.
It is open between 11am and 4.30pm.
