Vigilante fears after thieves' shops rampage in Ilkeston
POLICE are searching for a thieves who caused thousands of pounds' damage to four Ilkeston shops.
The vandalism is believed to have started on Monday evening and run into the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Councillor Michelle Booth raised the spectre of vigilantism as people feared for their businesses, saying: "My concern is that if people feel that their safety concerns are being ignored, then they will resort to self help."
Chambers Pet Store, Gas World and Munchy's, all in Bath Street, were all raided.

A petty cash jar was taken from Gas World and thieves caused thousands of pounds of damage, while a till was stolen from Munchy's.
Thousands of pounds-worth of stock was also taken from Chambers Pet Store with the thieves even taking the time to use the toilet.
United Carpets and Beds was also targeted but thieves were unable to gain entry due to safety glass installed in the door.
A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: "We urge anyone with information on the thefts to call Derbyshire police on 101."
